As mentioned below it’s often quicker and cheaper to produce an e-mail invitation for various events. These were designed for Swartland Wine Route for the Young Wine Show and Worker of the Year events. In some cases they are in english and afrikaans, which I differentiated with blue and brown text. The top of the design was also a separate jpeg file so that the recipient’s name could be inserted in the top centre (where the border fades to white on left and right).
The jpegs are inserted into the e-mails so that they don’t appear as attachments.

Quite a few of my clients are opting for e-mail invitations these days as they’re fairly quick and cost-effective to do. This one for Secretary’s Day, which was designed for M4 Events & Promotions, also appeared as an advertisement in the Burger newspaper.

www.westcoastwineroute.co.za
This website for the West Coast Wine Route is about to be completed. There are quite a few pages to be filled, but the info already there gives you an insight into the wine estates, cellars and award-winning wines on offer in the Olifants River Valley area and beyond. There are 16 wine estates in the West Coast Wine Route and all seem to have an interesting tale to tell - some are further inland, as far as Piekenierskloof near Citrusdal, but most are found nearby the Atlantic Ocean and benefit from its sea breezes and rich soils.
The site will include contact details, tasting and opening times for all 16 vineyards and will have a map of the area which includes cellars like Namaqua Wines, Lutzville (with their Cape Diamond Wines), Stellar Organic Wines and Klawer Cellars amongst others. There are also a few accommodation spots and conference facilities to check out along the way and many fine seafood eateries - sure to be included on the site soon…
Keep watching…

www.gunitedamsolutions.co.za
This site has just launched and is the home of Gunite Dam Solutions - a division of WDJ Construction in Malmesbury in the Swartland, Western Cape. WDJ Construction are also the creators of Small Storage Solutions - a storage facility based in Malmesbury, which is doing very well since the website was launched in 2007.
This new site has a home/information page in English and Afrikaans, which explains all about gunite dam construction and building of canal ways, as well as a quotation request form, a contact page and a page about the other varied projects of WDJ Construction. I’ve kept the design fairly simple with some photographs of projects in various stages and using the blue and green from the two logos.

www.sawineevents.co.za / www.sawinetourism.co.za
This 20 page website serves as a gateway to all the Wine Routes in South Africa. There is a list of the 15 wine routes and one brandy route on the left, which is easy to navigate and leads one to an intro page for each route. Here you’ll find links to all relevant websites as well as contact details and a short description of each wine route. The website was created in conjunction with a brochure of the Wine Routes of South Africa, which is currently available at wine estates, cellars and vineyards across the country.
The website includes a map with links to each of the routes intro pages. It also includes an events page listing all the events, festivals, expos, etc. in the regions for 2008 through to the beginning of 2010 in downloadable PDF files. These will be updated regularly and will hopefully become a useful source of information for tourists visiting the RSA.
The website was launched in November 2008.

www.eponasaddlesandbridles.co.za
This four page website showcases leather saddles and bridles (as well as accessories) which are imported from Germany. It has four pages including an introduction on the home page, which includes downloadable PDF files explaining the need for Treeless Saddles and other products on the site.
Then, we have a product catalogue page - again with downloadable PDF files containing all the products and accessories available, which will be updated periodically. A gallery page shows some of the products being used and the contact page is just like any other. Customers are to get in touch to see a price list.
This site was also a referral from a happy client and was a fun project to work on. Notably, it was created entirely by e-mail correspondence alone and I’ve still not met the client or spoken to her on the phone, which I think is the miracle of modern technology. We think we’ve done a good job in promoting the company and showing it’s products in an easy-to-navigate and quick to download website. I like the sillouettes of the horse-riders on left and right and the client’s preference of Georgia for the body copy was a nice break from our usual Verdana. The autumnal shades was not my first choice, but I think it works beautifully now that it’s online. Your comments are welcome!
