These double page spread advertisements were designed for Escape and Smart Holiday magazines. The map and members list remained on the left page, but we changed text colour and some photographs on the right page to show the different seasons in the Swartland region. The Swartland is now not only known for excellent wines, but delicious olives too - and well worth a visit!

This flyer was created for the Swartland Municipality Junior Town Council for this year’s Youth Symposium happening at the end of September. I kept the colours simple and bright.

These flyers have been designed for each of the 10 Ward Committees in the Swartland Municipality. They are A4, full colour, gate-folded to A4 on 135gsm gloss. The previous design was mostly black and white with a bit of blue so I added some more colour, especially in the pie charts and tables.

This diary has just gone to print and is a 44 page self-cover booklet, A5, printed on 150gsm matt. I had two whole days to complete the design so I hope it was a good fit for the content, which includes a 12 month diary for farmers to fill in incidents occuring on their farms with damage causing animals such as jakkals and leopards. The booklet, which is in Afrikaans, also features preventative measures; and data collected from farmers’ participation will help to formulate management and prevention techniques in the Greater Cederberg Biodiversity area.

Meerhof Private Cellar is a member of the Swartland Wine Route and lies just outside of Malmesbury on the way to Riebeek Kasteel. This flyer has just been printed. It was created using supplied photographs and text from the client so the beautiful illustration of the book on the inside pages comes from their original website, which was created by someone else. I did the type-setting and layout though, and I think the result is professional and pleasing to the eye.

This annual report has just been completed in March. It is almost 100 pages long, excluding the Annexures, and was printed in-house by Swartland Municipality and ring-bound. I decided to colour code each of the five chapters for easy reference and also designed a CD cover as some were given to interested parties in PDF format. These will also be available online on the Swartland Municipality website.
I received a lovely e-mail from my client at Swartland Municipality, upon completion of the project, saying the following: “Thank you once again for a job well done. I have compared our annual report with those of other municipalities, and the graphic lay-out outsmarts theirs by far.”

The brief was to create a professional appearance. I re-designed them using a logo adaptation from the UK company Stellar Group. Three sets of cards were produced using a vibrant blue on the reverse and a solid black background on the front with the star of the logo as a spot gloss varnish.
