Molfees, Poster, Advert

The MOLFees or Musiek Oppi Lande Festival is held in Malmesbury every year around late August. This year it fell to 321 Design to create the look and feel for the festival marketing. The brief was straight forward - bold, colourful and lively.

Some of the performing artists were cropped and placed on our magical ’Swartland landscape’ with vector drawings of musical instruments and ties adding to the fun element. I also included a rainbow ‘wave’, which flows through all advertising materials and I think ties it all together nicely. Colourful icons were added to represent some of the activities available throughout the event. Also, a popular element in much advertising today is what I call the toothpaste effect - which is the white extended border around key wording (and the slightly tweaked logo) with an emboss and shadow added in Photoshop.

This was an A3 poster to be posted in shops and community areas locally and an advert, which appeared in the local newspaper announcing the start of ticket sales.

So far response has been good and it’s all systems go for a brilliant MOLFees in 2008!

This advert was created for SA Expo. M4 Artist Management, which is an Events, Media and Marketing company with branches in Malmesbury and Johannesburg is making huge strides in the industry since it’s inception in early 2008, many popular South African artists have joined the ranks such as Wynand Strydom, Priscilla and others.

Here’s hoping the red carpet treatment keeps rolling on…

Moorreesburg/Koringberg Brochure

The Moorreesburg / Koringberg Tourism Brochure lies close to my heart. The original brochure was one of my first projects as a freelancer in the Swartland while I lived in Koringberg in 2006. This revamp has been worked on since February 2008 and is currently being printed and should be available from the 1st of July 2008.

It is DL sized and has a section for both Moorreesburg and Koringberg with listings of accommodation establishments, restaurants and events in each town, etc. There are also advertisements from some of the listed members and a map for each town showing important locations. You will also find a business listing for property agents, builders, caterers and much more.

You can also go online for more information at:

www.moorreesburg.com

www.koringbergtourism.co.za

These two towns along the N7 in the Swartland have so much to offer. It is an unspoilt region where the air is fresh and a rich agricultural heritage can be appreciated. The Wheat Industry Museum is one of only three of it’s kind in the world!

One of the things us Swartlanders love is the change of season and how different the landscape becomes through the year. This year we decided to show Moorreesburg in winter when the wheat fields have a rich green hue and the canola is as yellow as the sun. As we’ve used a summer golden wheat field photo for our cover in 2006 - who knows what we’ll show you next. I guess you’ll just have to wait and see…

Goedverwacht Snoek & Patatfees Flyers - A4 folded to A5

Goedverwacht Flyers

These A4 flyers, folded to A5 were litho printed, full colour on 90gsm gloss art paper. It was a rush job as the brief was given to me in mid June and final flyers needed to be delivered on the 23rd of June, which they were. The client was West Coast Tourism and I have yet to have any feedback from the organisers of the event, but the client, who sponsored the flyers, was very happy.

Speak to us if you have any events or festivals coming up. Flyer printing need not be expensive and the end result is a slick, professional impression. The minimum quantity is usually 1000, but this can be discussed.

Swartland Tourism Brochure

This brochure was an exciting task as it incorporates all 6 of the towns that make up the Swartland region. The Cape West Coast / Swartland Tourism brochure was completed in 2007 and then followed by the www.swartlandtourism.co.za website in 2008. The website also lists events in the region, route suggestions and links to each town’s individual website. It acts as a gateway to the Swartland, with multiple resources, while the brochure is a handy booklet for tourists visiting the area. It’s sister brochure is a map and info guide to the Swartland Wine Route, also created by 321 Design.

Swartland Wine Route Brochure

This was a great project to work on for the Swartland Wine Route. It has a map of the route on the back with info for each cellar/member and some lovely photographs, more info and even a little illustrated guide to the different kinds of wine glasses one gets, on the front. I got to use one of my favourite colours for the background to compliment the rich red used on the Swartland Tourism Brochure. When they’re seen side by side it’s clear that they’re from the same family and the response thus far has been very positive.
