As mentioned below it’s often quicker and cheaper to produce an e-mail invitation for various events. These were designed for Swartland Wine Route for the Young Wine Show and Worker of the Year events. In some cases they are in english and afrikaans, which I differentiated with blue and brown text. The top of the design was also a separate jpeg file so that the recipient’s name could be inserted in the top centre (where the border fades to white on left and right).
The jpegs are inserted into the e-mails so that they don’t appear as attachments.

These flyers have been designed for each of the 10 Ward Committees in the Swartland Municipality. They are A4, full colour, gate-folded to A4 on 135gsm gloss. The previous design was mostly black and white with a bit of blue so I added some more colour, especially in the pie charts and tables.

This diary has just gone to print and is a 44 page self-cover booklet, A5, printed on 150gsm matt. I had two whole days to complete the design so I hope it was a good fit for the content, which includes a 12 month diary for farmers to fill in incidents occuring on their farms with damage causing animals such as jakkals and leopards. The booklet, which is in Afrikaans, also features preventative measures; and data collected from farmers’ participation will help to formulate management and prevention techniques in the Greater Cederberg Biodiversity area.

This is the DL flyer just completed for the Old Kapteinskloof Guest House. It is full colour both sides and will be litho printed on 135gsm gloss paper.
It’s one of the oldest original homesteads of this area, with whitewashed walls and thatch roofs, offering self-catering accommodation for 2-6 people on a small farm about 180km from Cape Town. The area has an abundance of wild flowers in the spring and it feels like entering an oasis when driving into the valley tucked underneath the Piketberg mountain range. Banghoek Nature Reserve is just 8km away where you can enjoy nature walks or discover bushmen paintings, but whiling away some time at the spring water pool sounds just dandy to me too!
For more information you can visit their website at www.kapteinskloof.co.za - also designed by 321 Design.

This ad is very similar to last year’s design. Malmesbury Tourism liked it so much that we only changed the details for this year. A Jpeg file went out in e-mails to all interested parties and an advert will appear in local newspapers in the weeks leading up to the event. I see some of the Christmas street lights are already being installed around Malmesbury so they look all set for the big ’switch on’ on the 4th of December. I look forward to seeing you all there!

www.gunitedamsolutions.co.za
This site has just launched and is the home of Gunite Dam Solutions - a division of WDJ Construction in Malmesbury in the Swartland, Western Cape. WDJ Construction are also the creators of Small Storage Solutions - a storage facility based in Malmesbury, which is doing very well since the website was launched in 2007.
This new site has a home/information page in English and Afrikaans, which explains all about gunite dam construction and building of canal ways, as well as a quotation request form, a contact page and a page about the other varied projects of WDJ Construction. I’ve kept the design fairly simple with some photographs of projects in various stages and using the blue and green from the two logos.

Above is the entry form, in English and Afrikaans. For the first time, this year, the Mad About Me logo was designed by a learner from the Swartland as part of a competition. The entries went out to the six high schools in the Swartland area and there were quite a few fun designs to choose from. Below is the winning design by Hele Kritzinger of Swartland High School. Congratulations to Hele!

Hele’s winning design is top right and then on the left is the A3 poster, which will be appearing at schools in the Swartland shortly. Bottom right is the badge design, which will also be available in October for the Civvie-day on the 9th.

This DL flyer was created for Rejuvenate Anti-aging & Slimming Medi-Spa. It includes a description of the treatments on offer as well as some before and after photos and a map to the Medi-Spa. I kept the logo design simple with a graphic which could be a flower of some sort or a human figure giving the idea of life and energy - rejuvenation!
