This website is a basic WordPress website as the client requested a ‘business card’ on the internet. It scrolls on one page, but there are links to a few of their projects for people to take a look at a small photo gallery of each. They declined a new logo design as they’d already printed it on signage and vehicle branding so I used the blue colour in the design.

The Swartland Country Market has been an annual event, held by the Santam Swartland Wine & Olive Route, in October for the past few years and this year it was given a bit of a freshen up design-wise. I used a sunburst and a picnic basket showing some of the product you could buy at this event with all the fresh produce, delicious food and wines on offer.

The client had a very specific brief and requested the soft pink colour and the mannequin and scarf so I presented her with a few designs for the logo and after one or two options for the graphic she approved.

Below shows the owner’s business card design. It is 90 x 50mm and printed in full colour on both sides on a matt stock.

This A4 flyer was designed for an Extra Virgin Olive Oil Expo, which took place at the Olive Boutique in Riebeek Kasteel just this past weekend. I was asked to keep the colours earthy and I used fonts already chosen by the logo designer, Johann Human who also created their fantastic website.
Above shows some designs created for some of M4 Events & Promotions in 2014 and 2015. We’ve come a long way together since I designed their logo way back in 2008 – when they were still known as M4 Artist Management. Hetta Saunderson still manages many talented South African artists, but now also does event management and promotions from start to finish. They are still based in Malmesbury, but now manage various fantastic events throughout South Africa too.
Below shows a different format for a Facebook post created for Tiaan Laggenhegger of Kokkedoor, Koekedoor and Makietie fame. Then also an A2 poster design for him and in the middle one with Tiaan and Mynhardt Joubert, who won Kokkedoor 2013 and hosted Makietie on kykNET as Tiaan’s cooking partner. Mynhardt also has a brilliant new cafe in Paarl (called Jan Willem & Seuns se Hoekwinkel) which is well worth a visit and they can both be booked for cooking demonstrations and other occasions by contacting M4 Events. The Swartland in Parys event was held at Stonehenge Conference Centre in the Free State in May 2014. The weekend event brought the food, wine, arts & crafts and all that is good in the Swartland – to Parys, and included live entertainment, cooking demonstrations and more. Above shows the logo I created as well as the Facebook cover image used on the Facebook page promoting the event.
Above shows three adverts placed in the Beeld newspaper over a period of weeks before the event. First a generic ad, then some more info and finally showing the program of events.
Above shows two A5 flyers, which were printed leading up to the event. The information was also posted on Facebook during the time leading up to the big weekend.
And lastly, a full page ad of the program of events (which was printed in a special outer cover of the local newspaper) and also an A3 poster, which was put up at the venue.
The Black Farmers Funding Application Workshop is an initiative of The Goedgedacht Trust near the Riebeek Valley in the Western Cape. I created a logo design in two colours as well as a DL flyer, which included a form to fill in to apply to be part of the workshop. I then also designed the Workshop Course Notes and a sticker to go onto a folder cover. The flyer and course notes were created in both English and Afrikaans.
This re-design was completed in 2013. We went through five stages of changes before the design was finalised and client is very happy with the result.
This simple, yet sophisticated website and logo design were created in mid 2013. Above also shows the e-mail signature image created. The Samoa Hotel is situated in the bread basket of the Swartland region in a little town called Moorreesburg, which is in the heart of the agricultural region north of Cape Town. This simple HTML based website was launched in January 2014. The project included a new logo as well as a business card shown above. This website is no longer active, but I’m still quite proud of the logo design.
